Objective:
To learn and understand the basic concepts of Use Case Modeling

Assignment should be in your own wordings not copied from net, handouts or books.
It should be clear that your assignment will not get any credit (zero marks) if:
o The assignment is submitted after due date.
o The submitted assignment does not open or file corrupt.
o The assignment is copied (from other student or copy from handouts or internet).

Suppose you are working as Requirement Engineer in a renowned software house ABC.
You have been given a task to model requirements for a software project of a web based
application for client XYZ.
Scenario:
Online examination is a web portal to establish a network between the students and institute. The
system provides a platform for online exam conduction. The examiner visits web site and update
question bank which will display as a test to eligible students. Examiners lock or update
questions when required. Students attempt exams and portal automatically captures students
answers, calculate their score and saves. The administration access the results to determine the
pass ratio or to check the performance of the student in particular subject. The Admin of web
portal will monitor all the activities and authorize login for both students and examiner with
different set of rights. The students are able to get registered, attempt the paper, see the
announcements and view their results.
You are required:
1. Develop a Use case Diagram for the system discussed above. (10 Marks)
2. Answer the following according to discussed scenario. (10 Marks)
I. Name of different Actors.
II. Alternatives path. (For Registration and Score Calculation)
III. Exceptions (For registration process)
HINT: The importance of this task lies on the syntax and semantics of the UML use case diagram. Your
diagram should contain examples of includes>> and extends>> relations.
Note:
Assignment should be in your own wordings not copied from other students, internet, handouts or
books.
Your answer should be “to the point”.
Submit your assignment as Microsoft word document (for diagram you can use UML diagrammer).
Paste your Use case diagram in MS word file and submit via LMS.
